All we can say is WOW! - On October 4, 2009, the 20th Annual DAWS Walk for Animals was held at the Clifford J. Hurgin Municipal Center in downtown Bethel, Our original date of September 27 was rained out but the enthusiasm, energy and fun on October 4th proved that our spirits were not dampened by the delay.
There were 185 registered Walkers with donations both on and off line totalling $57,000 - incredible in these economic times. Even with this fantasic turnout, we did fall a little short of our goal of $65,000. Donations can still be made online by going to:
Look at all the fun you could have been having! If you did attend, check out our photos and see if you made our album. Photos are available for purchase.
The DAWS Walk for Animals could not be possible without all the dedicated volunteers, our sponsors, donors, and of course all those great goofy dogs! At times it is difficult to figure out who is having the most fun, the two legged or four legged participants.
Thank you again to everyone who participated either by walkiing, collecting donations, making donations, company sponsorship, or volunteering with the organization and planning of this very successful event. Mark your calendars, next year's event - Sunday, September 26, 2010.
