Title of Job: Clinic Assistant

Position Description: Assists in providing healthcare to animals and maintaining the DAWS Clinic

Major Areas of Responsibility:
Provide compassionate care for animals
Administer medications
Insures all supplies and products are properly stocked and stored
Clean clinic facility, including exam room, surgical suite and recovery room
Maintains hospitalized pet quarters assuring cleanliness of enclosures and animal comfort
Provide clean bedding, water, and litter pans
Provides exceptional quality client care when releasing pets to their owners
Prepare surgical instruments for autoclaving
Proper care of clinic equipment
Closing of the clinic, including trash removal, closing procedures
May provide routine post-operative care
Perform other duties as assigned

Job Requirement:
Able to multi-task
May be exposed to unpleasant odors, noises, and animal feces.

Personal Requirements:
Able to deal with animals even when they are stressed, ill, or in pain
Can stay calm and efficient during a medical crisis
Is experienced in the teamwork approach

Physical Demands:
Be able to lift approximately 50 pounds, walk dogs up to 80 pounds, and work on feet

Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or higher and previous on-the-job training

Full Time: Monday – Friday 8:00-3:00
