BELLA & TUESDAY

Things are going great.  It didn't take long for the cats to get comfortable here.  Bella & Tuesday (now named Molly) are getting along fine.

MISCHA

She is doing great.  We changed her name to Cleopatra "Cleo" for short.  I think it suits her.  She already has free roam of the house.  Her and the dogs are getting along well.  Cassia likes to bark at her to see  if she will play with her...I am really happy with her.  She is still opening up some, but I know it won't be much long before she rules the roost.

DAWN

I just wanted to let you know that Dawn is doing REALLY well. She runs and plays, she's eating well, she seems really happy. She has even been sleeping with me. She is so much fun to have around. She's a real lap cat, and loves to follow you around...even into the bathroom :). Thank you for all of your help in making this happen.

JIMMY & CLAUDIA

Claudia stays right by my side, she is adorable. Jimmy is great too, he has not been outside yet, I tried to walk him on a leash but he doesn't seem ready yet. He is such a sweetheart..Both great cats :)
Thanks again..

Cat Sealy

SEALY

Sealy (now "Fig") has been absolutely endearing so far! He comes right up to us when we go in his room (especially when we have food) and is extremely affectionate. And he has the loudest purr for such a little guy! He's fitting in beautifully and we're so happy to have him.

Thanks again,
Bette

BUGSY

Bugsy is very happy with is new family.According to his new mom, "He is warm, cuddly and playful and adapting just fine." Photo of Bugsy on his first night home looking like he's been there forever.

LUCAS

Many, long-term cat program volunteers will remember my cat, Lucas. He's FIV+ and was at the shelter for six years where he received lots of TLC from staff an volunteers alike. From time, to time, I like to provide updates as an on-going "Thank You" from him to all of you.

Today, I thought I had gotten a glass of water for myself but Lucas just figured the staff was now delivering beverages to the desktop. Following his afternoon refreshment, his majesty took a siesta on my laptop.

Cat Silver

SILVER

So we have made it through our first week + with Silver and I have to say that she is quite comfortable in her new home. She is now moving freely about the first floor of the house and is mingling with our other two cats. They are still a bit unsure of each other, but getting better each day. Her appetite seems to be improving and much to our surprise she is eating a bit more dry food then she was when we first brought her home. She also loves treats....and is right up there when it time to give them to her two brothers....

We all love her here and she is a great addition to our family. I find it quite amusing that she loves to sleep on my chest. I was away this past weekend visiting family and apparently was missed! This is quite nice for me since she has only been with us for a little over a week to know that she is that comfortable with us/me.

Cat Apollo

Cat Apollo

APOLLO

Hello~ almost a year ago we adopted our kitty boy Apollo. He had a rough start and since we got him we have updated DAWS as to how he is doing. He is great! We love him so much but nothing can top the love he gives us! Smart, loyal and playful he is! He has overcome his foggy eye about 75% now. I believe his vision is next to normal (He is the GREAT ANT HUNTER!).

ZELDA

I Wanted to update you on how Miss Z is ajusting to her new home. The first day, we helped her acclimate by keeping her in the guest bedroom for the night. Complete with tempurpedic bed, food, water, fancy shmancy litterbox and a windowseat, it was a perfect intro to her new digs. She was a little timid, but only for the first hour or so! Immediately she wanted to check out EVERYTHING! No keeping her in one place for too long! I took off work on Friday to be home with her, and we did much exploring, eating, and sleeping. She eats very well (a little piggy now and then), is perfectly in charge of the whole household, loves her windowseat, and entertains herself quite well with a skein of yarn she carries around with her. She also loves brush time, and her coat has gotten so soft and shiny in the 2 weeks we've had her. We are totally in love and all I want to do is be home and hangout with her. Here's a few pics, including one of her sleeping on her (custom made of course) fur pet bed. Thanks for helping to make her part of our family.

Htail Sherman 1

Cat Sherman

SHERMAN

I adopted my cat, Sherman from your shelter in the Summer of 2005.  We soon moved to an apartment by the University of Connecticut.  After receiving a job offer, we moved to an apartment in Boston a year later.  We have been living in Boston ever since.

Sherman is an amazing animal. He is everything I ever wanted as a pet and more. He is an indoor cat and spends his time lounging in window sills, chasing toys, stalking bugs and cuddling with me.  Oddly enough, his two favorite things to play with are crumpled Post-Its and tampons (still in the wrapper).  He loves that paper sound!  Go figure he prefers toys I don't buy him.

I just want to thank your organization for all the work you do and for bringing Sherman into my life. He spends every day at my side and every night curled up on my pillow.  I am currently attending Boston College School of Social Work and will graduate in a few years. At that time, I look forward to moving with Sherman to find new adventures. I can't imagine my life without him and I have you to thank.  I felt that after five years of having the best pet ever, I owed you another thank you!

LEO

Leo is doing fantastically ! He is now fully integrated into the household.  He has fully investigated every corner and enjoys watching the birds he sees from the windows. What a love.  He makes us chuckle with his cute ways.  He is making fast friends with Maggie, our first cat.  Actually, Leo is a talker, and I'm sure he has used every pick-up line in Catville to get Maggie's attention; she usually brushes him off, but I think she is weakening.  I have found them on the same bed taking a nap!

We are just so delighted on how the two cats are getting along: no real problems there at all. My husband, who kinda rolled his eyes when I told him I was bringing Lep home, has really become attached to the big guy as well. So we are really enjoying having him in our home. What a love he still is!!! Loves attention , loves to be cute and is a joy to have around.

CHEETAH

I just wanted to update everyone on Cheetah's first day with us. He was completely accepting of everyone as soon as the cage door was open! He greeted each person with a rub on their leg & a nudge of his nose. He then went to his new bed where he purred & kneaded while receiving much love. He happily took the place of my other cat under the covers while we slept. The dog has yet to make friends because he's too fast for Cheetah right now. Cheetah dives for cover under the bed & from there they stare at each other. I'm sure it’s just a matter of time b4 they're buddies.  Thank you all so much for Cheetah we absolutely love him! PS-He's already a daddy's boy!

Ruby's Happy Tail

RUBY

I just wanted to let you know that Ruby has adjusted well to her new home. She has been a joy to have. She is very playful and affectionate. She sleeps on the bed with my husband, myself and our dog Boxie. She is very sweet and gentle. We love her dearly. Thank you for doing such a great job in helping find homes for these animals. You are doing a great service to our area. Thank you so much for our Ruby... we love her so much!!!

Heather

Princess's Happy Tail

PRINCESS

THANKS to everyone who took care of Princess while she was at DAWS! You are all such a caring group of people and are doing such a wonderful job. We feel blessed to have Princess... she started doing a loud purr the minute she got out of the carrier! She loves cuddling up on the couch and exploring the house. We just love her. Once again, thank you to the staff and volunteers for your important and inspiring work!!!!

With appreciation,

Carol & Dave

Noah's Happy Tail

NOAH

Noah was pretty shy last night being in a new place, but overnight he ate the crunchies I left out for him. I finally got him out from hiding an hour ago, and then he ate some canned food. He is now lying on my computer desk, right in front of my face, purring and being adorable. So I guess he's happy
now and comfortable. He's really great! He lets me pet him and kiss him, and seems to love it. And he comes when I call him. So I'm happy too!

Thanks,
Ed

Sparky the Cat

SPARKY

Ok so I know it's barely been a few hours but I can't help it. As I write this, Sparky's staring out of the window and seems to be loving it. He's just looking at everything and taking it in. He played, jumped on everything he could, peed, stole my husband's spot on the bed and ate dinner. He's gotten a lot done in a small amount of time already!!

Thank you so much for taking such good care of him all this time. For all the little things and big like clipping his nails, putting his stuff together, calling back and forth... we really appreciate it.

He just climbed onto my husband's shoulder in bed and sat on him again. That's the Big Bad Sparky, lol.

Thank you everyone!
Marianne & Dennis and now Sparky!

PJ the Cat

PJ

Our family wants you to know that PJ is the most affectionate cat we have ever been around. Wow! He is simply
unbelievable. We can not thank you enough. He is doing fantastic.

Everyday he greets us warmly with little chirps and trills as he hops on and off the bed. He simply refuses to be alone. He has to be around someone 24-7 and that's just the way we like it! In fact, if you could see him now you would laugh. He's actually laying on my forearm purring as were both laying on my bed typing this e-mail; it's so cute.

PJ has bonded with everyone very well. He follows me everywhere I go. I'm serious, I can't imagine not having him around. He sleeps, literally, on my arm every night, and when I come home I'm not in the door but five seconds and he's all over me.
I will keep you guys up-to-speed every once in awhile as PJ grows into adulthood....Take care and God bless everyone.

Kris

KRIS

Kris is doing wonderfully! Danny (our son) has changed her name to
Lily. We figured out what food she likes and she is just a little snuggle bug!
She has fit in perfectly...she knows where everything is and, when you
call her, she comes running. At night she goes crazy running around
house....Thank you so much for helping us find her. She is a perfect little
addition to our family
