Sponsoring a dog or cat is one way you provide directly for the care of an animal while they are at our shelter waiting for adoption.

When the animal you sponsor is adopted, we'll apply the remainder of your sponsorship to another needy cat or dog.
Medical Fund
Some animals at our shelter are elderly or have special medical needs. While they are at our shelter we provide care for the animals during their stay including medical care that can be quite expensive. Emergency medical care can cost as much as $1,200 per animal when needed. We need your support to help the animals coming in to our shelter receive important and often life saving medical care.

Through your cash donation we are able to apply the funds to many of our critical programs while caring for and making a difference in the lives of animals in need. Securities Donation
Donating stocks, bonds, mutual funds and other securities contributes to the financial stability of Danbury Animal Welfare Society and can offer a significant tax saving for you. By giving stock, you can avoid capital gains tax on the increased value of the stock plus receive an income tax charitable deduction for the full fair market value of the stock rather than liquidating the stocks and donating the cash proceeds. A gift of appreciated mutual funds works in the same way. Contact your broker and giving@daws.org for more information.
Estate Planning/Wills
One of the easiest ways to donate is to include a bequest to Danbury Animal Welfare Society in your will. Depending on the current exemption amount and your assets, giving a bequest to us may also decrease any estate taxes that would be due from your estate.
Sponsorship and/or attending events
Get involved in one of the several events we host every year. Attending and raising money is one way to help or connecting us with corporate sponsors is another was to give. Please see News and Events for information on upcoming events.

Donate a used vehicle
Did you know that you can support DAWS by donating cars, boats, rv's, motorcycles and even jet skis and snowmobiles? Simply go to Donation Line's web site or call them toll free at 1-877-227-7487. A speedy pickup will be arranged, you'll get a receipt from the towing agent, and DAWS will send you a tax deduction letter within 6-8 weeks of the donation.

We have our own ebay store with lots of unique items for you and your pets. Please check out our available items and also remember that we are always collecting donated items for sale. Browse and buy today! If you have items to donate, please email giving@daws.org.
Cell phone donations
We have partnered with WirelessFundraiser.com to raise money through the recycling of used cell phones. This ongoing fundraiser benefits the environment as well.
