KITTENS
When
we rescue kittens we put them directly into foster care which is the
best environment for them. We may have a variety of colors and ages
of both genders in foster care at any point in time. Kittens can be
seen for adoption by appointment.
Click here to see the kittens that we currently have in foster care up for adoption.
Please
describe the type of kitten you're interested in adopting by filling
out an application and we will contact you. Applications can be
faxed to us at (203)748-6791, or emailed to cats@daws.org, or feel
free to stop by the shelter to drop it off.

ADOPTED! |
LONDON
London has been adopted!
London is a very sweet and special girl, who is lucky to be alive and seems to realize it.
She had an unexpected reaction to anesthesia and her heart stopped. Through the non-stop efforts of our veterinarian, London was revived and spent a couple of weeks in the hospital, while we prayed and waited for her recovery.
As a result of this incident, London is blind, but she adjusts to new locations and situations quickly. This story also has a silver lining - while London was a very shy and reserved kitten before, she is now very outgoing and likes to be petted, quickly rewarding you with her loud, rumbling purr.
We know there is a special home out there for London where she will be well-loved as a cherished family member.
Even if you are not able to adopt London, we ask that you please pass her story on to your friends and help us find her a special home. Please also consider contributing to our medical fund in order to help offset some of the costs associated with her initial care and hospitalization.

MARTINA
Martina is a pretty tuxedo female who is unfortunately not too happy at DAWS. She was sweet as can be with the people who found her, but with so many other cats around she gets pretty grumpy. She would love for someone to take her home and give her a chance so she can show you what a wonderfully loving cat she really is!
