On Saturday, March 10, 2012, DAWS holds its Fifth Annual Making a Difference Ball. This event is our largest annual fundraiser, attended by 350 people and supported by hundreds of others through sponsorships, journal advertisements, financial and in-kind donations. We hope you'll read about the event and choose one or more of the many ways you can join our celebration and make a difference in the lives of animals in need.
Making a Difference Ball 2012: One Step Closer
The theme of the 2012 event is One Step Closer, recognizing all of the ways people help animals get closer to their forever homes, including one aspect of our program that doesn't always get a lot of attention: foster care. DAWS is only allowed to keep a certain number of adult animals at the shelter, so our network of foster families is extremely important in enabling more animals to be rescued, cared for, and eventually adopted. All of the puppies and kittens are placed in foster homes until they're old enough to be adopted.

A Night of Celebration
With so much media focus on what’s wrong in the world, it’s nice to have an evening to celebrate the good things happening in our community. Our Making a Difference Ball is going to be bigger and better than ever with silent & live auctions, plentiful food and drink, and entertainment by Connecticut’s premier event band, Higher & Higher.
We'll accept reservations until March 1, 2012. Last year we sold out so please reserve your seat(s) today! We ask for a donation of $150 per person or, be a "Leader of the Pack" and host table of 10 for $1200.
